HISTORY OF THE DONNER PARTY A Tragedy of the Sierra by Charles F McGlashan

HISTORY OF THE DONNER PARTY A Tragedy of the Sierra by Charles F McGlashan
A classic acount of a group of American pioneers who set out for California in a wagon train. Delayed by a series of mishaps, they spent the winter of 1846–47 snowbound in the Sierra Nevada. Some of the emigrants resorted to cannibalism to survive, eating those who had succumbed to starvation and sickness.

Book is in shabby condition but clean and perfectly readable: corners are creased and curled; pages are nice and clean; cover is worn around the edges; owners name on inside cover.

Publisher's blurb: After a journey across the plains, about forty members of the Donner emigrant party died from starvation near Donner Lake in Nevada County, California, in the winter of 1846-1847.
